The 2012 APSOPRS Oculoplastic Congress in Singapore will take place at the Singapore Expo Convention & Exhibit Centre on August 24th & 25th, 2012.
IOP Ophthalmics surgical consultant, Jay Tardugno, will be presenting a 10 minute lecture on “Financial Considerations/Reimbursement” in addition to being an instructor at the “Ocular Surface and Eyelid Reconstruction with Bio-Engineered Tissues Wet Lab”. The course synopsis is as follows:
Synopsis: This course will teach techniques for using dehydrated amniotic membrane, a bioengineered eyelid spacer graft and fibrin adhesives in the following procedures: pterygium/autograft and pterygium/amniotic membrane, conjunctival chalasis treatment, ocular surface reconstruction, and eyelid reconstruction. Experienced instructors will review pearls, practical tips, and pitfall avoidance. A wet lab will allow hands-on experience with using dehydrated amniotic membrane and fibrin glue.
Objective: The participant will gain knowledge needed to begin using dehydrated amniotic membrane and become familiar with a novel eyelid spacer graft.
