Clear Cornea Handling – To Hydrate or Not

Some surgeons prefer to cut and apply the tissue in the dry state because they find it easier to handle.  Others prefer to fully hydrate the tissue by placing it in sterile BSS for 10 minutes prior to surgery.  Once hydrated, the cornea will regain its translucent appearance.
