Please join IOP Ophthalmics at the annual ASOPRS Spring Meeting at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, in Tuscon, Arizona. The event will take place May 17-20, 2012. IOP is always happy to support the Society by sponsoring the annual ASOPRS Foundation 5K run/walk on Saturday May 19th at 6:00 AM. Also, IOP will be showcasing the SutureGroove gold lidweights, tarSys lid spacers, Tutoplast lid spacers, Tutoplast whole sclera, Tutoplast fascia lata ptosis slings, and Osmed hydrogel orbital expanders at the meeting. April 21-24, 2012: Hands-On Training at ASCRS 2012

IOP will exhibit its dynamic, skills-transfer stations in it’s 20×30 booth, #1761. Pig eyes will be made available to allow for simulated surgical procedures using devices like dehydrated amniotic membrane, glaucoma tube shunts, patch grafts, lid spacers and other oculoplastic, glaucoma and ocular surface technologies.

IOP will launch two new devices, the AmbioDisk™ corneal overlay graft and the newly enhanced Molteno3™ glaucoma tube shunt.

Also, top surgeons will present their latest techniques and surgical pearls regarding the treatment of pterygium, late stage glaucoma, conjunctival chalasis, corneal defects, etc.

IOP Appoints Adam Magoun as New Director of Marketing

COSTA MESA, California – 18 July 2011 – IOP Ophthalmics, the premier developer and distributor of specialty surgical technologies for eye surgery, announced today the hiring of Mr. Adam Magoun as Director of Marketing. Adam’s new position with the Company commences immediately.

Adam’s highly successful career in the marketing and sales of specialty ophthalmic devices began in 2006. He holds significant and diverse work experience in ophthalmic surgical sales and marketing; web development and design; surgical sales force management; and new media technologies for online education.

Adam will be responsible for: assisting in the design and implementation of the company’s overall annual marketing plan and vision; creating and implementing interactive client relations projects; developing and executing the web platforms; and implementing and managing database efforts.

IOP Ophthlamics Adds Elesh Modi to Expanding Surgical Sales Force

COSTA MESA, California – 11 March 2011 – IOP Ophthalmics, the premier developer and distributor of specialty surgical technologies for eye surgery, announced today the addition of Elesh Modi to its growing surgical sales force.

Elesh will represent IOP’s lines in the Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida Panhandle territory.

Mr. Modi’s surgical sales career began in 1998 – as a territory sales manager for Flanagan Instruments. In 2004, Elesh commenced a 7-year position at Surgical Solutions, representing a range of lines including Carl Zeiss Meditic Surgical Microscopes and Synergetics USA.

At Surgical Solutions, he was awarded for sales excellence for six consecutive years – and served on an advisory committee for new product development.

“No doubt. Elesh is an outstanding, proven surgical sales veteran,” said Erik Melling, Director of Sales. “We also recognize that Elesh is an accomplished business manager – offering us a wide range of business and managerial skills. Industry Veteran Pat Tiffany Added to IOP’s Surgical Sales Force in Greater Minnesota

COSTA MESA, California – 15 March 2011 – IOP Ophthalmics, the premier developer and distributor of specialty surgical technologies for eye surgery, announced today the addition of Pat Tiffany to its expanding surgical sales force.

Pat will represent IOP’s lines in Minnesota, Iowa, northern Wisconsin, South Dakota and North Dakota.

Mr. Tiffany has been dedicated to ophthalmic surgical sales for over 25 years. He began his surgical sales career at Surgidev Corporation in 1986 – thereafter assuming positions at Becton Dickinson, Surgical Specialties Corporation and Kantemar Medical LLC.

Throughout the years, Pat has represented a vast range of ophthalmic surgical lines including Carl Zeiss Surgical Microscopes, Anspach Surgical Drills, Sharpoint Microsurgical and specialty surgical devices and instrumentation.

“We are committed to dramatically building the greater Minneapolis territory,” stated Erik Melling, Director of Sales. “Appointing Pat Tiffany – a proven surgical sales veteran and performer – will be the key. We have never been more excited about our prospects in this key territory.”

Pat resides with his family in Victoria, Minnesota. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s University in Winona.

COSTA MESA, California – 15 March 2011 – IOP Ophthalmics, the premier developer and distributor of specialty surgical technologies for eye surgery, announced plans for exhibition at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, March 26 through 29.

The meeting will be held at the San Diego Convention Center – in San Diego, California.

IOP will showcase its wide range of ophthalmic surgical devices and biologics – including the Ambio Amniotic Membrane Allografts, Molteno Glaucoma Drainage Devices, Tutoplast Processed Allografts and the keraSys Lamellar Patch Grafts.

IOP Announces the Promotion of Jay Tardugno to Regional Sales Director

COSTA MESA, California – 1 February 2011 – IOP Ophthalmics, the premier developer and distributor of specialty surgical technologies for eye surgery, announced today the promotion of Jay Tardugno to Regional Sales Director. This new appointment commenced on January 1^st, 2011.

Jay initially joined IOP Ophthalmics in 2005 as an independent surgical sales representative – promoting and servicing surgical technologies to hospitals, ASCs and surgeon practices.

JT’s dynamic personality and zealous commitment to his customers established him as a leader in the field and the O.R.

His rich experience in the industry has served and prepared him well. From 1993 to 2005, Jay served as surgical and territorial manager for Allergan Pharmaceuticals, Bausch & Lomb Surgical, Coherent Medical Laser Group and Inspire Pharmaceuticals. His performances routinely ranked him in the upper echelons of sales hierarchy.

His new position will allow IOP Ophthalmics to benefit from Jay’s passion, leadership, dedication and competitiveness. He will be responsible for managing and supervising the company’s Midwest surgical sales force.

Tom Gregory Added to IOP’s Expanding Surgical Sales Force

COSTA MESA, California – 17 January 2011 – IOP Ophthalmics, the premier developer and distributor of specialty surgical technologies for eye surgery, announced today the addition of Tom Gregory to its surgical sales force.

Tom will represent IOP’s lines in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Mr. Gregory’s industry experience in ophthalmic surgical sales is dramatic. From 1982 to 1994, Tom worked with Mentor Ophthalmics as a sales representative, sales trainer, area sales manager and regional sales manager. In 1984, he was awarded Mentor’s sales representative of the year.

Since 1994, Tom has represented industry as an independent manufacturer’s representative – and consistently ranks as a prolific performer for all company’s represented.

“Our surgical sales force is now the strongest and most focused in company history,” said Erik Melling, Director of Sales. “Expanding our presence in the U.S. with quality representation like Tom has always been a priority. This is undoubtedly the finest team of surgical reps I have worked with – and I am assured they will provide only the best service to ophthalmology O.R.s throughout the U.S.”

Tom resides in Rockwall, Texas with wife (Pam) and son (Jacob). He graduated from the University of Texas Pan American. He is a proud member of the First United Methodist Church in Rockwall – and serves as its regional and state mission’s leader.
