Molteno® Glaucoma Drainage Devices were developed by
Dr. Anthony Molteno for the treatment of severe and complex
cases of glaucoma. His work with and dedication to glaucoma
surgery began over 30 years ago. The Molteno® Implant
is recognized as the gold standard worldwide for glaucoma
implant surgery.
The Molteno® is surgically utilized when hypotensive
medication or previous filtering surgery has failed to control
the glaucoma or when these regimens or procedures are unlikely
to succeed.

procedures to improve the control of postoperative hypotony
